Piston Push — a free Minecraft block puzzle
Push every slime block onto a pressure plate. You can push but never pull, so one careless shove into a corner ends the level — think first, then move. Six hand-made levels, no download, no sign-in.
Piston Push
Push every slime block onto a pressure plate. You can only push — never pull — so think before you shove one into a corner.
Arrow keys or WASD to move · Z to undo · R to retry the level.
How to play Piston Push
- 1Press Start. Level one opens with a single slime block and one pressure plate.
- 2Move around. Arrow keys or WASD on desktop, or the on-screen pad on mobile.
- 3Push, never pull. Walking into a slime block pushes it one square. There is no way to pull one back.
- 4Fill every plate. The level is solved the moment every slime block sits on a pressure plate — they glow green.
- 5Undo freely. Press Z to undo a move, or R to restart the level. Undo does not cost you anything.
- 6Clear all six. Every level you clear banks score immediately, so stopping early still counts. The fewer total moves you used, the bigger the bonus.
Tips for fewer moves
- Never push a block into a corner unless a plate is in that corner — from there it can't be moved again.
- A block flat against a wall can only slide along that wall. Check the plate is on the same wall before you commit.
- Work out where you need to stand *before* you push, not after. Position is the whole puzzle.
- Solve the block that has the fewest options first; the freer ones can wait.
- Undo is free and unlimited, so experiment rather than restarting the whole level.
- Each cleared level banks 150 points and the efficiency bonus falls four points per move, so a tidy solution is worth far more than a lucky one.
Frequently asked questions
What is Piston Push?
Piston Push is a free Minecraft-themed Sokoban puzzle. You push slime blocks around a grid and onto pressure plates. It runs in your browser with no download and no sign-in.
How do you play Piston Push?
Move with the arrow keys or WASD, or the on-screen pad on mobile. Walking into a slime block pushes it one square in that direction. Get every block onto a pressure plate to clear the level.
Can I pull blocks?
No — you can only push, which is what makes it a puzzle. Push a block into a corner and it is stuck there, so undo with Z or restart with R and try a different order.
How many levels are there?
Six hand-made levels, each one verified solvable. They ramp up from a single block to a three-block puzzle that needs real planning.
How does scoring work?
Every level you clear banks 150 points, plus an efficiency bonus that starts at 400 and drops by four for each move you have used. You score for the levels you finish even if you stop before the end, and a tidy solution is worth far more than a brute-forced one.
Is Piston Push free?
Yes. It is completely free with no download, no installation and no account required.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. A directional pad appears below the board on phones, so you get precise one-square-at-a-time control.
Is Piston Push an official Minecraft game?
No. Piston Push is a free fan-made game created by MineSpecs. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft; 'Minecraft' is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.
