How to play Slime Snake
- 1Press Play. The slime starts moving right across the board straight away.
- 2Steer it. Arrow keys or WASD on a keyboard; swipe or use the on-screen pad on a phone.
- 3Eat the apples. Every apple you eat makes the slime one segment longer and adds one to your score.
- 4It speeds up. The slime moves a little faster with every apple, so late runs demand real reactions.
- 5Avoid the walls. Hitting the edge of the board ends the run immediately.
- 6Avoid yourself. Running into your own body ends it too — and the longer you get, the harder that becomes.
Tips to survive longer
- Work the outside edges and leave the middle open — boxing yourself into the centre is what kills most runs.
- Plan the turn after the one you're making. At high speed you're committing two moves ahead whether you like it or not.
- You can't reverse into your own neck, so a panicked 180 does nothing. Turn twice instead.
- The tail tip moves away as you advance, so the square it is leaving is safe to enter.
- Follow your own tail in a loop when an apple spawns somewhere awkward — it buys thinking time.
- Only one turn is applied per step, so mashing the same direction does nothing — repeats are ignored and your next real turn is always the one that lands.
