Terms of use

Use the site the way a player would. In particular, don’t:

• submit scores you didn't earn in the game, or send requests to the site's API from scripts;
• flood the leaderboards, the skin queue or any other form;
• use a leaderboard name or skin credit that is abusive, hateful, sexual, or impersonates someone;
• submit a skin you didn't make and don't have permission to share, or one showing anything hateful or sexual;
• try to get into the admin area or get around the site's limits.

We may remove anything that breaks these rules, and scores that the game can’t produce are refused or hidden automatically.

You keep whatever rights you have in what you submit. By submitting it, you give MineSpecs a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store it, show it on the site (including in the leaderboards and the activity ticker that appears on every page) and, for skins, to render it in the 3D viewer and let other visitors download it to use as their own Minecraft skin. The permission lasts while the submission is on the site; you can ask for it to be taken down at any time (see below).

By submitting a skin you confirm that you made it or have the right to share it this way. Every skin is reviewed by a moderator before it appears, and a moderator can decline one without giving a reason.

Name moderation. Leaderboard names and skin credits are checked by an automatic filter each time they are shown; a name the filter blocks is displayed as “Anon”. The filter errs on the side of blocking, so an innocent name can occasionally be caught — pick another one. Names are public, so don’t use your real name.

The mods, shaders and resource packs in the catalogue are made by their authors, not by MineSpecs. They are provided as they are, under each author’s own licence, and those licences — not these terms — govern what you may do with them. We host one of these files on this site only when the licence its author gives it, on Modrinth or in the licence file shipped with it, permits redistribution; otherwise the download link goes to the author’s own page. If you think we have got one wrong, send a removal request (below).

The data packs in the catalogue are different: MineSpecs wrote them for this site and releases them under CC0 1.0, so you can use, change and share them without asking. They are provided as they are, too.

Mods change how the game runs. Back up your worlds before installing anything, and check a file is meant for your Minecraft version and mod loader.

If something on MineSpecs is yours and you want it removed — a file we host, an image, text, or a skin in the gallery — send us:

• the address of each page or file concerned;
• what the work is and how you are connected to it (you made it, or you act for the person who did);
• what you would like done — removed, credited differently, or replaced with a link to your own page;
• how we can reply to you.

Send it on the MineSpecs Discord. While a request is being looked at, we may take the item down.

The calculators, maps, guides and data on MineSpecs are free and are offered as they are. We work to keep them correct (see how we check our work), but they can contain mistakes, and Minecraft itself changes between versions. If you find an error, tell us.

When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Using the site after that means you accept the new version.
