Sildur's is the pack that has quietly kept the most people playing with shaders on. Rather than one build with a settings menu, Sildur ships a ladder of presets — Lite, Medium, High, Extreme and variants — so you download the tier your machine can handle and it simply works. The look is bright and colourful, the version support is exceptionally broad, and it has been maintained continuously for over a decade. Distributed from Sildur's own site.

How to install Sildur's Vibrant Shaders

  1. 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.7 – 26.2 — Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.Sildur's Vibrant Shaders is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
  2. 2Download the Sildur's Vibrant Shaders .zip from the button above — keep it zipped. Sildur’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official sildurs-shaders.github.io page — always the newest build, straight from the author.
  3. 3Drop the .zip into your .minecraft/shaderpacks folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpacks on macOS).
  4. 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Sildur's Vibrant Shaders.

Performance & what to expect

Sildur's Vibrant Shaders is rated low performance impact. It is comfortable on entry-level dedicated GPUs at a normal render distance. It renders atmosphere, bloom, reflections and shadows. The look is fantasy and vanilla like.
