Lux V1
by Lux
Lux takes CaptTatsu's BSL as a foundation and pushes it toward high fidelity — richer volumetrics, heavier atmospherics, a look aimed squarely at cinematics and screenshot builds rather than survival frame rates. If you have seen a Minecraft trailer with unreasonably good god rays, there is a decent chance it was this or something descended from it. All Rights Reserved, so download it from the official page.
How to install Lux V1
- 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.7.10 – 1.21.4 — Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.Lux V1 is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
- 2Download the Lux V1
.zipfrom the button above — keep it zipped. Lux’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author. - 3Drop the .zip into your
.minecraft/shaderpacksfolder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpackson Windows,~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpackson macOS). - 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Lux V1.
Performance & what to expect
Lux V1 is rated medium performance impact. It wants a mid-range dedicated GPU. Drop render distance a few chunks if you fall below 60 FPS. It renders atmosphere, bloom and reflections. The look is fantasy.
