RedHat is built on older Chocapic13 code, and that heritage shows in the best way — the warm, slightly hazy, semi-realistic look that a whole generation of shaderpacks descended from. mlgimposter keeps it running on current Minecraft versions, which is the hard part; a lot of Chocapic derivatives stopped years ago. Distributed under the Chocapic13 agreement, so download it from the official page.

How to install RedHat Shaders

  1. 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.7.2 – 26.1.2 Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.RedHat Shaders is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
  2. 2Download the RedHat Shaders .zip from the button above — keep it zipped. mlgimposter’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author.
  3. 3Drop the .zip into your .minecraft/shaderpacks folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpacks on macOS).
  4. 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select RedHat Shaders.

Performance & what to expect

RedHat Shaders is rated medium performance impact. It wants a mid-range dedicated GPU. Drop render distance a few chunks if you fall below 60 FPS. It renders atmosphere and shadows. The look is fantasy and semi realistic.

RedHat Shaders is created by mlgimposter and published under its own Chocapic13 Agreement terms. We link to the author’s official download rather than mirroring it — the pack is theirs, and its licence asks that it stay that way.
