a shader aiming for a semi-realistic look. lothanhchiton built it as a semi-realistic pack with atmosphere, bloom, path tracing, PBR and reflections. It asks for low-tier hardware at minimum and works with Iris or OptiFine on Minecraft 1.20 – 26.2. Licensed Apache-2.0, so the download is mirrored right here on MineSpecs — no ads, no redirects.

  3. 3Drop the .zip into your .minecraft/shaderpacks folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpacks on macOS).
  4. 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Serendipity.

Performance & what to expect

Serendipity is rated low performance impact. It is comfortable on entry-level dedicated GPUs at a normal render distance. It renders atmosphere, bloom, path tracing, pbr and reflections. The look is semi realistic. Because it supports PBR, it looks its best with a matching texture set — browse our free resource packs for one with normal and specular maps.
