SEUS — Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders
by Sonic Ether
SEUS is the original. Sonic Ether's shaderpack is what made the wider world realise Minecraft could look like this at all, and virtually every pack on this page descends from ideas it popularised. The modern line splits into SEUS Renewed, a maintained take on the classic look, and SEUS PTGI, an early and genuinely impressive path-traced global illumination build. It is distributed only from Sonic Ether's own site, so that is where the button above goes.

Performance & what to expect
SEUS — Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders is rated high performance impact. It is demanding — treat it as a showcase pack rather than a survival daily-driver, and expect to tune render distance. It renders atmosphere, reflections, shadows and path tracing. The look is realistic.
