Simply Upscaled
by timetravelbeard
Simply Upscaled does something most packs do not: it filters and upscales Minecraft's textures at render time, so blocks look smoother and more detailed without installing a high-resolution resource pack. Add optional shadows on top and you get a subtly better-looking game at almost no performance cost. Genuinely clever, and very light. All Rights Reserved, so download it from the author's page.
How to install Simply Upscaled
- 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.12.2 – 1.21.11 — Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.Simply Upscaled is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
- 2Download the Simply Upscaled
.zipfrom the button above — keep it zipped. timetravelbeard’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author. - 3Drop the .zip into your
.minecraft/shaderpacksfolder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpackson Windows,~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpackson macOS). - 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Simply Upscaled.
Performance & what to expect
Simply Upscaled is rated potato performance impact. It is the lightest tier we host — it runs on integrated graphics and older laptops. It renders shadows. The look is vanilla like.
