Minecraft, but Stone Drops Treasure
Six of the most worthless blocks in the game - stone, deepslate, andesite, diorite, granite and tuff - stop being filler. Each one rolls a 1000-weight loot pool when you break it. 962 times out of 1000 you still get plain cobblestone, so building and stripmining feel completely normal. The rest of the time it is coal, raw ore, lapis, redstone, quartz, XP bottles, emeralds or diamonds - and out of deepslate and tuff, enchanted books, echo shards and even ancient debris. Silk Touch mines the block clean with no treasure at all, and Fortune multiplies whatever does drop.
How it works
- All six vanilla block loot tables are replaced with one weighted pool totalling 1000 - cobblestone keeps 962 of that weight, so the common case is unchanged and stripmining still feels like stripmining.
- Surface rock (stone, andesite, diorite, granite) pays out 3.8% of the time; deepslate and tuff roll a richer 5% table that adds enchanted books, echo shards and ancient debris.
- Silk Touch is checked first in its own pool: it drops the block intact and skips the treasure pool entirely, so you can still quarry clean stone and deepslate for building.
- Every treasure entry carries the vanilla apply_bonus ore_drops formula, so a Fortune pickaxe multiplies the payout without changing how often treasure appears.
- A cheap tick loop scans twice a second for jackpot-tier item drops, tags each one so it can only fire once, then rewards the nearest miner with a chime, particles and a score bump.
- Seven advancements track the run, from your first raw ore to Overworld ancient debris, and /trigger bsdt_toggle mutes the alerts per player without touching the drops.
Installing it
- 1.Download the zip below. Do not unzip it — Minecraft reads the zip directly.
- 2.In Minecraft, click your world, then Edit, then Open World Folder.
- 3.Drop the zip into the datapacks folder inside that world.
- 4.Load the world. Run /datapack list to confirm it is enabled.
