Minecraft, but Trading Pays Double
Vanilla trading asks you to hand a villager your hard-won goods and walk away. Here every completed deal, villager or wandering trader, pays you back the moment it closes: an emerald returns to your inventory plus a little experience. Trade again inside twenty seconds and the streak climbs, pushing the refund to two, three, then four emeralds and handing you Hero of the Village discounts on top. One deal in ten hits a jackpot, one in fifty coughs up a diamond the trader never meant to include, and milestone payouts from 10 to 1000 trades turn an ordinary village into an income stream.
How it works
- A hidden advancement listens for minecraft:villager_trade and revokes itself on the very first line of its reward function, so it re-arms instantly for your next trade.
- Refunds scale with a streak scoreboard: 1 emerald below streak 5, then 2, 3 and 4, with Hero of the Village discounts kicking in from streak 10 upward.
- A ten-tick clock in the tick function ages streaks out twenty seconds after your last deal, so the fat payouts have to be earned in one session at the stalls.
- Two random_chance predicates roll on every trade: a 10% jackpot worth 8 emeralds and 20 XP, and a 2% rare find that slips a diamond into the change.
- A second listener filtered to trades that pay out emeralds adds a sale commission, so selling goods to a villager literally pays double.
- Milestones at 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 trades fire once each, paying emerald blocks, bottles o' enchanting, bells, villager spawn eggs and finally a beacon.
Installing it
- 1.Download the zip below. Do not unzip it — Minecraft reads the zip directly.
- 2.In Minecraft, click your world, then Edit, then Open World Folder.
- 3.Drop the zip into the datapacks folder inside that world.
- 4.Load the world. Run /datapack list to confirm it is enabled.
