Minecraft, but Crafting Is Cheap
An anvil for five iron ingots. An enchanting table for one diamond and three obsidian. A bookshelf for three planks and a book. Two logs of any wood press into twelve planks, one plank splits into four sticks, and a single glass block blows into two bottles. There is even a craftable elytra and a saddle you can actually make. Nothing is overridden: every one of these is a brand new recipe with a shape vanilla never used, so the original crafting grid you know still works exactly as it always did. The recipes drop straight into your recipe book the moment you join.
How it works
- Thirty-nine added recipes cover lumber, storage, redstone, brewing glass, transport and endgame gear - anvil for 5 iron, enchanting table for 1 diamond and 3 obsidian, hopper for 2 iron and a chest.
- Every wood type gets a bulk lumber recipe: two logs of one species laid flat give twelve planks instead of eight, and bamboo blocks get their own version.
- Not a single vanilla recipe is replaced or removed. Each new recipe uses a grid shape or ingredient count vanilla never used, so nothing can ever conflict or shadow the original.
- The recipes appear in your recipe book automatically - a hidden inventory_changed advancement fires once per player, hands out all 39 unlocks, then re-arms itself for the next person who joins.
- Elytra becomes craftable from six phantom membranes, a diamond and a feather, and paper plus blaze powder yields eight flight-duration-3 rockets to fly with.
- Type /function but_everything_is_cheaper:help in game for the complete printed recipe list, straight in chat.
