BSL is the shaderpack most people picture when they hear the word. CaptTatsu's signature is warmth — golden sunsets, saturated blues, a soft bloom over everything — and it has aged remarkably well, still getting updates a decade on. It is also unusually kind to mid-range hardware for how good it looks, which is a large part of why it spread so far. How to install BSL Shaders

1. 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.7.10 – 26.2 — Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.BSL Shaders is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
2. 2Download the BSL Shaders .zip from the button above — keep it zipped. CaptTatsu’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author.
3. 3Drop the .zip into your .minecraft/shaderpacks folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpacks on macOS).
4. 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select BSL Shaders.

Performance & what to expect

BSL Shaders is rated low performance impact. It is comfortable on entry-level dedicated GPUs at a normal render distance. It renders bloom, shadows and reflections. The look is cartoon.
