Fill a trough with the right food and any mob that can be tempted will come looking for it - chickens for seeds, pigs for carrots, and so on. They react exactly as though you had fed them yourself, entering love mode and eventually breeding. A practical way to keep large pens ticking over, as long as you remember to restock the trough.
