SwingThrough discards the block under your crosshair when that block has empty collision, letting an attackable living entity behind it be targeted instead, and the block outline disappears while you are aiming at the mob. The whole thing is a single small mixin with no extra raycasts or radius searches, so it costs effectively nothing. On NeoForge it needs Connector.

How to install SwingThrough

1Install Fabric · NeoForge · Quilt for your Minecraft version — SwingThrough supports 1.14 – 1.21.1.
2Download the SwingThrough .jar from the button above. It is hosted on MineSpecs, so there are no ad-gates or redirects.
3Drop the .jar into your .minecraft/mods folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\mods on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods on macOS).
4Launch Minecraft using the Fabric · NeoForge · Quilt profile. SwingThrough appears in your mod list once the game loads.
