- Five poplar planks in a U shape; all five must be poplar, because each boat recipe takes only its own wood.
- A poplar boat and a chest in any two slots of the 2x2 grid make a Poplar Boat with Chest.
- New in 26.3 with the dappled forest's poplar trees. It seats two like every boat, and as furnace fuel it burns for 60 seconds, enough to smelt six items.
- The shape matters but its position does not — this works in any corner of the grid, as long as the arrangement is the same.
