Clarity is a utility pack rather than a beauty one: it removes shadows and fog entirely so caves, night-time and deep ocean are fully visible. That makes it genuinely useful for mining, cave mapping and long night journeys, and it costs almost nothing to run. Do check your server's rules before using it in multiplayer — some treat fullbright as an unfair advantage. All Rights Reserved, so download it from the author's page.

How to install Clarity

  1. 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.8 – 26.2 Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.Clarity is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
  2. 2Download the Clarity .zip from the button above — keep it zipped. Astyll’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author.
  3. 3Drop the .zip into your .minecraft/shaderpacks folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpacks on macOS).
  4. 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Clarity.

Performance & what to expect

Clarity is rated potato performance impact. It is the lightest tier we host — it runs on integrated graphics and older laptops. It renders shadows. The look is vanilla like.
