Structure markers are placement candidates from Minecraft's region algorithm (Java 26.2) — the exact chunks the game rolls per region. Slime chunks are exact; structures still need biome verification (world-gen engine, coming soon) before they all match in-world.
Seed map questions
- Where do I find my world seed?
- In an existing world, open the chat and run /seed — it prints the number. When creating a world you can type your own seed into the Seed field, and anyone using that same seed on the same Minecraft version gets an identical world.
- What is a slime chunk?
- Slimes spawn naturally below Y=40 in roughly one chunk in ten, chosen by a hash of the world seed and the chunk coordinates. Those chunks are fixed for the life of the world, which is what makes them worth mapping before you build a slime farm.
- Do the structure locations match my actual world?
- Structure placement is derived from the seed, so the map shows where the game intends to generate each structure. Terrain can still bury or partially overwrite one, and placement rules change between Minecraft versions — so use the coordinates as a strong starting point rather than a guarantee.
- Does this work for Bedrock seeds?
- The map follows Java Edition generation. Bedrock uses a different generator, so the same seed number produces a different world there and the structure positions shown here will not line up.
