Faster Random — Minecraft mod

Faster Random swapped in a generator that is quicker on paper, but the author archived the project after conflicting performance reports, noting that any gain is situational, may be placebo, and that some JVMs force the mod to disable itself anyway. The trade-off is a loss of vanilla parity in affected worlds. Keep it installed only to stay consistent with worlds already generated using it, not for new setups.

How to install Faster Random

  1. 1This download is built for Minecraft 1.19 – 1.21.1 on Fabric or Quilt. Install one of those loaders for 1.19 – 1.21.1. Faster Random as a project supports 1.19 – 1.21.1; for other versions get the matching file from the author’s official page.
  2. 2Download Fabric API as well — Faster Random depends on it and will not load without it.
  3. 3Drop the .jar into your .minecraft/mods folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\mods on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods on macOS).
