What you need

• Cobblestone×6
• Redstone×2
• Quartz×1

Worth knowing

• Six cobblestone, two redstone dust and one nether quartz on the right.
• Emits a short pulse from its back face when the block it faces changes.
• The output side is the small face with the red dot, opposite the watching face.
• The shape matters but its position does not — this works in any corner of the grid, as long as the arrangement is the same.
