• The upgrade keeps every enchantment and any custom name; the smithing template itself is consumed.
• 3 armour points like diamond, but 407 durability and 3 armour toughness instead of 2.
• The shape matters but its position does not — this works in any corner of the grid, as long as the arrangement is the same.
