A warm, cozy atmosphere and heartwarming shadows. Made by xsoras, it leans realistic / vanilla-like and ships atmosphere, colored lighting, foliage, PBR and shadows. Expect it to run comfortably from medium-tier hardware upward, on Minecraft 1.7 – 26.2 via Iris or OptiFine. Licensed Apache-2.0, so the download is mirrored right here on MineSpecs — no ads, no redirects.

How to install Soleron

  1. 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.7 – 26.2 Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.Soleron is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
  2. 2Download the Soleron .zip from the button above — keep it zipped. It is mirrored on MineSpecs, so there is no ad-gate or redirect.
  3. 3Drop the .zip into your .minecraft/shaderpacks folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpacks on macOS).
  4. 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Soleron.

Performance & what to expect

Soleron is rated medium performance impact. It wants a mid-range dedicated GPU. Drop render distance a few chunks if you fall below 60 FPS. It renders atmosphere, colored lighting, foliage, pbr and shadows. The look is realistic and vanilla like. Because it supports PBR, it looks its best with a matching texture set — browse our free resource packs for one with normal and specular maps.
