Vanilla Plus Shader
by RRe36
Vanilla Plus is the pack to hand someone who says they want better graphics but not different graphics. RRe36 keeps every colour and silhouette recognisable, then rebuilds the lighting, shadows and water underneath — so it reads as Minecraft rendered properly rather than Minecraft restyled. It is light, it is stable, and it is a very safe first shaderpack. All Rights Reserved; download from the official page.
How to install Vanilla Plus Shader
- 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.16 – 1.21.4 — Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.Vanilla Plus Shader is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
- 2Download the Vanilla Plus Shader
.zipfrom the button above — keep it zipped. RRe36’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author. - 3Drop the .zip into your
.minecraft/shaderpacksfolder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpackson Windows,~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpackson macOS). - 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Vanilla Plus Shader.
Performance & what to expect
Vanilla Plus Shader is rated low performance impact. It is comfortable on entry-level dedicated GPUs at a normal render distance. It renders shadows and atmosphere. The look is vanilla like.
