Before BSL grew into the warm, saturated look it is known for, it was a quieter pack oriented at vanilla aesthetics. CaptTatsu has left Classic available for the players who preferred that restraint — and for older machines, since it is lighter than the current line. How to install BSL Shaders — Classic

1. 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.7.10 – 1.21.9 — Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.BSL Shaders — Classic is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
2. 2Download the BSL Shaders — Classic .zip from the button above — keep it zipped. CaptTatsu’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author.
3. 3Drop the .zip into your .minecraft/shaderpacks folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpacks on macOS).
4. 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select BSL Shaders — Classic.

Performance & what to expect

BSL Shaders — Classic is rated low performance impact. It is comfortable on entry-level dedicated GPUs at a normal render distance. It renders bloom and shadows. The look is vanilla like.
