Visual Vibrance
by jbritain
When Mojang shipped Vibrant Visuals on Bedrock, Java players immediately wanted it. jbritain built this to close the gap: the same directional lighting, water reflections and soft shadows, targeting the look rather than the implementation. It is a genuinely useful reference point if you have seen Bedrock footage and wondered why your Java world looks flat. Check the author's page for licence terms and the current build.
How to install Visual Vibrance
- 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.20 – 26.1.2 — Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.Visual Vibrance is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
- 2Download the Visual Vibrance
.zipfrom the button above — keep it zipped. jbritain’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author. - 3Drop the .zip into your
.minecraft/shaderpacksfolder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpackson Windows,~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpackson macOS). - 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Visual Vibrance.
Performance & what to expect
Visual Vibrance is rated medium performance impact. It wants a mid-range dedicated GPU. Drop render distance a few chunks if you fall below 60 FPS. It renders reflections and shadows. The look is vanilla like.
