Mojang announced the Super Duper Graphics Pack, showed it off, and then quietly cancelled it. Eldeston built this in its place: full PBR materials, waving foliage and proper reflections in a package that stays deliberately faithful to vanilla's palette and stays light enough for modest GPUs. It is the go-to answer when someone wants "better graphics" without their world looking like a different game. Distributed under the FlameRender Studios licence, so download it from the official page.

How to install Super Duper Vanilla

  1. 1Install a shader loader for Minecraft 1.13 – 1.21.8 Iris (pairs with Sodium) or OptiFine.Super Duper Vanilla is a shaderpack, so it needs a loader to run.
  2. 2Download the Super Duper Vanilla .zip from the button above — keep it zipped. Eldeston’s licence doesn’t permit re-hosting, so that button takes you to the official modrinth.com page — always the newest build, straight from the author.
  3. 3Drop the .zip into your .minecraft/shaderpacks folder (%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/shaderpacks on macOS).
  4. 4Launch the game, open Options → Video Settings → Shaders, and select Super Duper Vanilla.

Performance & what to expect

Super Duper Vanilla is rated low performance impact. It is comfortable on entry-level dedicated GPUs at a normal render distance. It renders pbr, reflections and shadows. The look is vanilla like. Because it supports PBR, it looks its best with a matching texture set — browse our free resource packs for one with normal and specular maps.
