Looting increases the loot mobs drop and the chance of rare drops, and adds 1 percentage point per level to the chance a mob drops the gear it is wearing.

Which items take Looting

Anvil cost
An anvil charges ×4 per level when Looting comes from another item and ×2 per level when it comes from a book, so adding Looting III from a book costs 6 levels before any prior-work penalty. Work out a full combine in the anvil cost calculator.
